Rocio Rupert was born and raised in Mexico, where she was greatly influenced by her surroundings. She grew up in Guadalajara with her father—an accomplished artist himself—who encouraged her to express herself through art; he taught her how to observe and appreciate shapes, light and color. Rocio attended The Institute of Art in Guadalajara in her early adult years where she studied commercial art and worked with water color, oil, ink, pastels and calligraphy.
In 1983, she moved to Strasbourg, France where she studied at The School of Arts in Strasbourg. Rocio learned the finer techniques of water color and also studied art history where she learned and admired the masters like Michael Angelo and Rembrandt.
Returning to Guadalajara, Rocio began her career in sculpting. She concentrated on creating sculptures of sea life which has been exhibited and sold throughout Mexico and the United States. These pieces of art were created from arrays of metals and alloys.
Ms. Rupert currently lives in South Texas where she continues to pursue her passion in all forms of art.
